How is the acrylic bathtub manufactured?

Mr. Petr Huťka, production manager of the TEiKO company, answered the qestion.

Vacuuming machine forms an acrylic sheet moulding which is the prime base of the entire bathtub quality. Its excellent utility is reached through reinforcing process done in a spray box by means of application of a polystyrene mixture and fiber glass. Reinforced bottom grants higher stiffness and enables a solid base for assembling supportive feet and metal frames. Automatic saw trims the rim of the bathtub in a jig to the desired size; outlet and overflow holes are drilled consequently.

Quality control personnel check the bathtub size correctness, supervise its finishing and pack it with enclosed manual instructions. In 2002 TEiKO company installed one of the most advanced thermoforming machines made in Europe and designed for vacuuming process.
